    When starting the app for the first time, the projects viewer is displayed. Projects are groupings of data and settings that help keep your work organized.

    Projects are selected either by tapping on their thumbnail or an implicit action such as pressing the "import" or "add project" buttons. Once a project is selected, the project is made active and the menu and map are presented.

    On the iPhone the same design is employed, however only one half of it is displayed at a time--either the menu or the map. Tapping a small tab in the middle or swiping from off the edge will switch between the two modes.
